Patrice de Moncan is a historian, economist, author and publisher, with a doctorate in Economics from the University of Paris X, as well as a degree in History from the same university.

He is the founding president of Éditions du Mécène, and is also involved as founder and vice-president of the “Euro Arcades” association, whose headquarters are in Brussels (Galeries de Saint-Hubert). This association aims to organize pairings between passages and galleries around the world.

Patrice de Moncan stands out for his role as creator and organizer of numerous exhibitions related to the themes of his books, in collaboration with institutions such as Le Louvre des Antiquaires, BNP Paribas Real Estate and FNAIM.

As a lecturer, he has given many conferences, including some for the Paris City Halls, the Carnavalet Museum, the Louvre des Antiquaires or the Paris Academy of Architecture. He has also given conferences abroad, notably for the National Arts Club in New York, as well as in Canada for the magazine Formes, and in the ten main cities of France for BNP Paribas Real Estate and the FNAIM.

A prolific author, he has published more than thirty books, some of which have become real bestsellers:

His writings mainly cover the History of Paris with more than twenty books, the History of Covered Passages from the 19th century to the present day, Haussmann, Napoleon III and Paris under the Second Empire, as well as Town Planning, Architecture and the ‘Utopia.

Patrice de Moncan has received several prizes for his works, notably the Haussmann Prize in 2003 for his work on Haussmann, as well as the Charles Garnier Prize from the Société de Géographie in 2004 for his work “Le Paris d’Haussmann”.

In the field of audiovisual media, he has participated in more than a hundred programs in France (Canal +, France Télévision, Antenne 2, France 3, France 5, BFMTV, M6, etc.), as well as in other countries such as Germany, England, Japan, Italy and the United States. As a regular contributor to the national press, he has appeared on the cover of prestigious magazines such as L’Express, Le Figaro Magazine and the Journal du Dimanche.
