The Mother of Invention: How good ideas disappear when we forget women.
Why didn’t we get wheels on suitcases until 1972? Why were electric cars considered “feminine” when they came along in the late 19th century. And how come it was a company specializing in women’s underwear that made Neil Armstrong’s moon suit?

Katrine Marçal leads the audience through fascinating examples of how innovation has been held back by our ideas about gender. She argues that our inability to capitalize on women’s experience is almost as big an obstacle today – the future will be shaped by the companies that dare to think differently about inclusion.

The audience will gain an increased understanding of how a lack of gender equality affects innovation within their own organizations. Katrine delivers both concrete examples and a clear picture of how important this perspective on innovation is for anyone who really wants to be able to think new things in their field.
