Leslie Coutterand, a former actress, has transformed herself into a versatile professional, excelling as a speaker, moderator, director, producer, and activist. Holding dual citizenship in France and the United States, she splits her time between the vibrant cities of Paris and London.
Her journey in the entertainment industry includes prominent roles on esteemed French national networks like TF1, where she starred in the prime time TV series “Julie Lescaut,” and France 2, where she contributed to the acclaimed TV series “Deja Vu,” a nominee for the best teen show at the 2010 national “TV Festival de La Rochelle.” Additionally, Leslie made her mark in Hollywood, sharing the screen with Oscar-nominated actors Henry Winkler, Marcia Gay Harden, and Stanley Tucci in the American movie “Larry Gaye.”
Beyond acting, Leslie’s creative prowess extended to producing short documentaries and commercials for renowned brands such as Nuro, SciFuture, Indeed, and Google. She also took the director’s chair for a six-episode miniseries comedy on gender norms and social expectations, which aired on BBC3.
However, Leslie Coutterand’s life took a transformative turn when she embarked on a profound personal journey, leading her to step away from acting. Redirecting her passion and energy, she became deeply involved in projects aimed at creating a positive impact on society and the environment. In 2018, Leslie initiated and launched three impactful environmental campaigns in collaboration with iboycott.org and Friends of the Earth. These campaigns urged major French banks to divest from the Dakota Access Pipeline (DAPL) and invest in clean energies.
Leslie’s influence expanded globally as she became a sought-after speaker, delivering inspiring TEDx talks in both France and the United States. She became a regular presence at various international summits and festivals, including events like Paris Dauphine, Indonesia Sustainable Energy Week, Sommet du Digital, W2day, Wonderlust USA, Sommet du Design de Paris, and Lift Conférence by Saatchi & Saatchi. Notably, Leslie moderated esteemed panels at events like BPI France, Cannes Film Festival, Les Sommets, Axa, and Femmes Entre-Aides et Autonomie, among others.
Her commitment to raising awareness about pressing social and environmental issues was evident in her speeches at significant events such as the Indonesian Sustainable Energy Week and the annual conference of the Harvard Project for Asia and International Relations in New Delhi in 2022. During these events, Leslie passionately highlighted the social and environmental impact of social media and mainstream media, prompting critical conversations.
In a testament to her dedication, Leslie Coutterand founded FlashWorld Productions, a progressive Los Angeles-based production company.
