Philippe Le Corre is an expert on Asian geopolitics, China’s rise and transatlantic geopolitics.
He is currently a Senior Research Fellow and Visiting Professor at ESSEC Business School and a Senior Fellow at Asia Society Policy Institute. He is a Senior Advisor on Geopolitics at Asia Society France, a Research Fellow at the Harvard Kennedy School, an Associate in Research with the John K. Fairbank Center for Chinese Studies at Harvard and an Associate Fellow with the Paris-based Fondation pour la recherche stratégique (FRS).
Philippe Le Corre previously served as a nonresident Senior Fellow at the Carnegie Endowment for International Peace, as a Visiting Fellow at The Brookings Institution, and as a Special Advisor on International Affairs to the French defense minister. He was also a policy analyst on Asia for the French government and testified before the US House of Representatives, the French Senate and the French National Assembly.
Philippe previously worked as a senior director with Publicis Group in Paris and Shanghai, where he directed an international team of advisors to the Shanghai World Expo 2010 Organizing Committee. Philippe started his career as a foreign correspondent in Asia for almost 10 years, and has published extensively on the region in Asia-Europe Journal, Etudes, Perspectives Chinoises, The Wall Street Journal, Le Monde, Financial Times, Les Echos and other publications.
A frequent broadcaster over the years (BBC, CNBC, CNN, RFI, France Inter, Bloomberg TV..) , he is a foreign affairs columnist to Ouest France, the world’s most read francophone daily newspaper.
He is the author or co-author of several books on China including “China’s Offensive in Europe” (Brookings Institution Press, 2016), “Quand la Chine va au marché” (Maxima, 1999) and “Après Hong Kong” (Autrement, 1997). He is also a major contributor to the recently published volume “The China Questions 2” (Harvard University Press, 2022) and to several other edited volumes (Routledge, MacMillan).
