Yannick Mireur, an expert in geopolitics and international affairs, is a well-known figure in the media, often invited to share his insights on American and global news. He is actively involved in directing the Nexus forum, a platform focused on economic discussions related to digital transformation and urban challenges.
Having previously worked as an analyst specializing in gas issues at Cambridge Energy Research Associates, an American company, Yannick Mireur has organized and led numerous round table discussions via the Nexus Forum, addressing energy topics in various countries including Russia, Mexico, Turkey, Azerbaijan, and the United States. These gatherings bring together executives from multinational energy companies and government representatives.
Currently, Yannick Mireur has shifted his attention to the intricacies of Smart Cities and smart buildings. Nexus is leading a consulting project for the French public authorities, assisting in the digital transformation of sectors associated with these challenges. Furthermore, Mireur is currently serving as a Senior Advisor for Global Futures Group/Smart Cities New York, an annual event focused on sustainable cities known as the Urban Tech Summit, held in New York.
Yannick Mireur obtained a Master of Arts degree and a doctorate in international affairs from the Fletcher School of Law and Diplomacy at Tufts/Harvard University in Boston. He was a recipient of the prestigious Fulbright scholarship during his studies. Additionally, he has completed the Paris 2016 session of the Institute for Advanced National Defense Studies (IHEDN) as an auditor.
Among his notable works is his latest book, “Smart Populism: The People’s Return to Politics and How to Respond“. In this publication, Mireur delves into the impact of globalization, examining how it has given rise to populist discontent and proposing possible responses to address this phenomenon.
