A motivational speaker, also known as an inspirational speaker, is a person who delivers speeches with the purpose of motivating or inspiring those in attendance. Typically, a motivational speaker has a reputation for being an expert on the subject matter and encourages the audience to look at things from a different perspective and pay more attention to their own talents and abilities.

Almost all motivational speakers tell their own personal experience to the audience, which means they can come from any background and use that knowledge to inspire others. Not everyone evaluates their meaningful life experiences to determine if those experiences can be helpful to others. A motivational speaker is constantly reflecting on their own life to see what information would be helpful to their audience or clients. They speak in many places such as universities, companies, conferences…

The ultimate goal of a motivational speaker is to fundamentally change people emotionally and/or spiritually and help them bring about some sort of professional or personal change in their lives and themselves. Tony Robbins is, among other things, well known for this. People naturally tend to focus on all their problems, and a good motivational speaker helps the audience focus on the many possibilities, instead of just seeing the bad sides.

Motivational speakers are usually involved when, for example, personal or professional development is desired from the speaker.

Personal development :

This is the type of term most often thought of when “motivational speaker” is mentioned somewhere. They inspire and guide listeners to find purpose and meaning in their lives. They can talk about motivation, inspiration, or overcoming adversity, which helps listeners take action and see the world or situation from a new perspective.

Business Development :

These types of motivational speakers offer encouragement and guidance to business groups at different levels, from salespeople to CEOs. Business motivational speakers usually have a background in business and can share their own stories of success (and failure). They cultivate enthusiasm, help teams develop a common goal and inspire them to improve their work.
